We weren't planning on going away for vacation this year...but then we had a great opportunity to stay at my Aunt and Uncle's beach house in Bethany Beach, Delaware for a week! So naturally we couldn't pass up a free place to stay and only an 8 hour car trip (which turned into about a 12 hour trip with all the diaper changing, eating and bathroom breaks- ah, well :) The only catch was we had to spend the whole week with my parents and sisters....hehehehe!!!
Aiden enjoying his in-car entertainment!
Ryleigh was a great little traveler....and with only minimal complaints :)

Enjoying her appetizer of sweet potato puffs....
yumm
Kira, Sarina and Mom

My men....this cafe was just around the corner from the house we were staying at- and they had the best crab cakes! Yummy!!!

Our big girl using a straw for the first time!
Ryleigh discovering the sand
Aiden digging through one of his Auntie's purses....not sure what for- but he loves to go through their purses!

Cutest beach bottom ever!

Getting ready to build our first sandcastle
Ryleigh tasting the sand.....yuck!

With her
binky securely in her mouth, she was allowed to play in the sand- which she loved!
Aiden was very afraid of the waves, probably because of the noise we figured- since at home he is a little fish and loves the water and to swim in his Grandma's pool. So he spent his time at the beach playing in the sand, as far from the water as he could get. He loved being at the beach though....as long as you didn't make him get close to the ocean. Screaming (like we were trying to murder him :) would ensue, so we just let him enjoy the ocean from a distance.

Of course the dinosaurs had to come to the beach too!

My very cute boys!

I love this picture!
Aiden (always with the dramatics) was acting like posing with Aunt Kira was killing him- literally :)

My silly guys....

Kira, Sarina, Me,
Aiden and Mike after eating some very yummy pizza!
Arrgghhh....matey!!!

Eating some yummy grilled salmon and fresh corn
Ryleigh likes to play peek-a-boo, but instead of covering her eyes- she covers her ears. It is very cute!
Aiden all ready to hit the horse track!

Our littlest pirate wench :)

Uncle Joe and Aunt Stacey came up for 2 days while we were there. It was great to see them and
Aiden had a ball playing (bossing around really) with Stacey.

Sarina doing what she does best on vacation....

and Kira
texting away from the comfort of her air mattress :)

Pirates are always early risers.....too much fun to be had to sleep!

Miss Ry already to get out to the beach

I love sleepy baby faces- they are just too cute!!!
Aiden watching one of his movies on his new favorite "little TV"

Sweet, sleepy bear!

Don't you love the wind-blown hair look?!
Ryleigh was not a fan of how the sand felt on her cute chubby knees- so she crawled like this all week on the beach! It was pretty funny to see!!!
Ryleigh is starting to walk in earnest now, and she spent a lot of time practising standing up on the sand

Our little lady just
chillin while we played pirate mini-golf
Aiden taking his first and last swing. Once the giant pirate skull started talking, he was finished and spent the rest of the time walking around with his hands over his ears. Makes it kinda hard to golf :)
Aiden loves any shorts or pants with pockets- not to put stuff into, just his hand :) Cute little dude!

Kira, Mom,
Aiden and Dad hanging out on the boardwalk
Aiden and his new friend

So pretty...

The last day we were at the beach, there was a little tide pool left-over from high tide that we managed to convince Aiden to play in with us! He really liked this and stayed in it for several hours, until it dried up

Aiden and Grandma

Aiden met this cute little guy named Liam on the beach and they had a lot of fun playing together. He also cozied up to Liam's pretty mom and dad, and decided that they looked like better parents to him than us. He tried to adopt them and even went so far as to call the poor man "dad". Sadly for Aiden though, his attempts to ditch us didn't work, and he was forced to come home with his boring parents :)

Ryleigh was having fun collecting pieces of shells, and always had some in her chubby little hands!

Aiden and Liam digging for buried treasure, while Ryleigh supervised :)

Aunt Kira dressed Aiden up in her bedazzled bikini top and necklace- and Aiden added the pumpkin bowl lid for extra flair :) Needless to say Mike was not thrilled in the least!

Love those baby blues!

So sad...packing up to head home

Aiden just chillin for the long ride home....we had a lot of fun, ate a lot of yummy seafood, and got a lot of sun! All in all, it was a great week- and a perfect end to the summer :)

Love this post, I can't decide which pictures are my faves! Love the car picture of the kids, they looked so entertained on the drive. Does that work for Ry with her binky in her mouth? We tried that with Wade and the first thing he does is chuck the binky and put mouthfuls of sand dirt or whatever in his mouth to eat...You guys looked like you had so much fun, what an awesome trip and to spend it with your whole family! Your mom sure does have 3 beautiful daughters! I about died laughing with the picture of Aiden in the bikini top, that is classic, that is something Justin would do lol...I am glad you guys had a nice time..oh and thanks for testing my blog comments, one lady at church said it wasn't working for a while and I had no idea, sorry I know that was cheesy of me to ask :)
