Children are hilarious...and since mine love to talk (all the time) they keep me laughing with the things they come up with. Here are few I had to write down...
** While we were swimming the other day Aiden poured his bucket of water down the front of my swimsuit and said "There mommy - some water for your boobies, in case Emmett wants to drink water instead of milk!" Aren't I lucky to have such a helpful big boy?!?
** We love music around here and as we were jammin' out to some Rhianna, We Found Love - Aiden was like "that is one of my favorite songs mom!" When the song was finished he asked if we could listen to that song again, "you know mom, the one- we found love in a homeless place..." I tried to tell him she was saying "in a hopeless place", but he wasn't convinced. He kept saying, "no mommy, it's a homeless place."
** At the dinner table the other night, Aiden was telling Mike, "daddy, you don't know you're beautiful." (another of his current favorite songs) To which of course Mike answered, "oh, don't worry buddy I know I'm beautiful." Then Miss Ry pipes up, "daddy's not beautiful! I don't see any sparkles." I guess you have to have sparkles to be beautiful...I'll have to remember that!
** Ryleigh is now potty trained!!! Mind you though she has only been potty trained for a week (w/o any accidents!) and I hear her in the living room, singing to the baby, "Emmett is a stinker bottom, who poops in his pants...and it stinks!" Ah, the hypocrisy of a 2 year old.
** Ryleigh was sitting on the sofa flipping through Aiden's Book of Mormon, and I was like - isn't that so cute! So I asked her, "Ryleigh do you like reading the scriptures? Do you like reading about Jesus?" She looked over at me and said, "Oh, yes mommy...Jesus is so handsome!" Oh, boy....
** Ryleigh loves to help "her baby" feel better when he is upset, so recently when Emmett is crying because he is hungry and mommy is not moving fast enough...Miss Ry has taken to coming over and rubbing his head and cooing "It's ok Emmett, mommy will feed you her boobie soon." Not exactly how it works, but I guess it's the thought that counts.
** I was going through Starbucks drive-thru for my favorite frozen chocolaty treat one day and as the lady is handing me my drink- I hear Aiden from the back yell, "Mommy, I hope that's not coffee!" No buddy it's not, but thanks for looking out for me :)
** Also...just for reference, Ryleigh is now referring to her bottom as "my sweet bum." She will pop her hip out and ask me "Do you like my sweet bum?" I have no idea where she got this from, and while I am thrilled at her confidence now...I'm not so sure how I'll feel about it in 10 years :)
